About the job
We are Fool’s Theory, a company from Bielsko-Biała in Poland, creators of the game “Seven: The Days Long Gone”. Now that The Witcher Remake is in development, we are actively seeking skilled individuals to join our team for this project, developed in cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED studio. At this point, the game is in its initial phases, and we have seasoned developers who have contributed to past Witcher titles on board. Sounds interesting? Get in touch with us!
Responsibilities
- Producing assets needed to create visual effects (textures, materials, meshes),
- Creation and integration of particle effects for characters, environments in gameplay and in cutscenes in Unreal Engine 5,
- Searching for new solutions on how to get the most out of the Unreal technology,
- Enhancing and helping refine the VFX pipelines,
- Maintaining high-quality and optimal standards of FX in collaboration with lighting, material and tech art team members,
- Optimizing visual effects for performance,
- Documenting workflow and communicating relevant information to other teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the games industry as a VFX Artist,
- Experience with creating a wide variety of realistic game-ready visual effects,
- Deep knowledge of the Unreal Engine, Unreal Engine 5 familiarity is a plus,
- Very good knowledge of 3D packages (3ds Max/Maya/Blender) and fluid simulation software/plugins including Niagara, Houdini and Photoshop,
- Good understanding of performance limitations,
- Outstanding creativity and attention to detail,
- Ability to create high quality visual effects consistent with the artistic vision and quality of the project,
- Ability to independently plan your own work, search for references and present ideas to stakeholders,
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills,
- Fluent English.
